7 WEEK OLD INFANT GOING THRU GROWTH SPURT?
Dec 15th
Question by luvmynwf:
7 week old infant going thru growth spurt?
Hi
I’ve read that at 6 weeks newborns tend to go thru a growth spurt. Well, my 7 week old is going thru something and I am wondering if it could be a growth spurt (or maybe not?). He has not had any of his naps during the day (maybe slept 15 mins here and there) , he seems hungry and can’t wait 3 hours to eat, crying and fussing so I feed him but then he only takes an ounce or so? Our schedule (such as it was) is absolutely gone and I have no idea anymore when he should feed next? He is not himself, really fussy and nothing consols him. We’ve tried burping him, changing positions and scenery. He’s not usually like this. So, I know that 6 weeks usually marks a growth spurt but he is 7 weeks old (he was full term but only 5lbs 8oz at birth so I have always assumed he’s a little behind).
Does this sound like a growth spurt? We’ll be going for a check up with our physician in 3 days so I will ask her too but I am interested in what other parents think?
thanks,
Marina

COULD USE SOME TIPS…?
Dec 1st
Question by pursuit_of_happyness:
could use some tips…?
okay, at the end of this month I am moving 5 hours away to be a fulltime nanny for my adorable baby nephew when his Mother goes back to work…I’ve cared for my nieces before and spent time with babies and love them so much..i just kinda wanna know what to anticipate and what I can do to be the ideal caretaker for him…I’ll be with him mostly from 7am-3 pm weekdays…should I anticipate him to be on a pretty regulary feeding/ napping schedule by this point? you should know he arrived about 7 weeks early and he will be 10 weeks old and just over 6 lbs..(YAY! he’s over doubled in weight since born!) when I start to care for him full time..any baby tips, Books, and adjustment changes to anticipate would be great…I want to do a great job for him and I love kids….THANKS!!!!!!!!~

HELP NEEDED FROM PARENTS THAT HAVE OR ARE CURRENTLY COSLEEPING WITH AN INFANT?
Nov 29th
Question by MillerMyers:
HELP needed from parents that have or are currently cosleeping with an infant?
Our boy is 3 1/2 months old that is breastfed, has a stay-at-home mother and has slept in bed with us nightly since he was born. We are dealing with some attachment issues right now. We can’t get him to fall asleep on his own for his much needed naps during the day. This is making him more fussy and harder to deal with at times because he needs to be held to fall asleep. Sometimes he’s so overtired that he will not sleep at all and just continues to wail. Even though we love sleeping with him, we do not want this to continue for much longer. Please offer any recommendations on how we can make this transition as smooth as possible and/or share your experiences. Also, any thoughts on the cry it out method. Thanks!
Chase’s Mommy and Daddy
We do not like the cry it out method. We are not even considering it as an option. Please try to stick with the first part of our question and give us any feedback pertaining to the main theme of the question. Thanks again!

I’m looking to buy an infant sleep bag/sack that is made of high thread count cotton in a adorable print. Everything seems to be out of stretchy fabric…I want it made out of the same fabric my bed sheets are made of. Does anyone know where I can buy this? I do not feel like making one myself.

As soon as she hits the bed she is wide awake and crying! Other times I will put her in her crib and turn on her music she will fall asleep and then right away again she is up! BABY WITH A LOPSIDED HEAD?
Nov 15th
Question by Sherry-Lynn:
baby with a lopsided head?
she is 7 mo. old now and since she was a newborn she has always preferred to look to the right when sleeping or relaxing. when you look at her, the left side of her head sticks out further. For the last 6 months we’ve tried using head positioners, using infant positions-turning her on her side tilting her to the left thinking she might just look that way, and even went as far and rigging up her mobile so it hangs down low on her left side. We’ve tried turning her swing when she watches her einstein movies so she’s forced to look to the left and that only works for a few minutes then she occupies herself in other ways and gives up on the video. Her physician has checked her out numerous times and doesn’t feel there is any big concern. DOES ANYONE ELSES BABY DO THIS?
